Today marks a special anniversary in Prince George history—the opening of the Elksentre on December 29, 1976! As one of the city’s iconic arenas, it quickly became a cornerstone of the community, bringing people together for skating, hockey, and countless cherished moments.
For me, the Elksentre holds a particularly special place in my heart. It’s where I spent countless hours playing hockey, and I’m proud to say I was part of one of the very first women’s hockey teams in Prince George. Those formative years on the ice taught me the value of teamwork, resilience, and pushing boundaries—qualities I now carry into my work with small businesses in our community.
The lessons I learned at the Elksentre have shaped how I approach challenges and opportunities in business. Just as hockey requires strategy, adaptability, and collaboration, so does building a strong digital presence for local businesses. At PG Designs, I’m committed to helping Prince George entrepreneurs thrive by applying these principles, coupled with a deep understanding of our city’s unique needs.
As we celebrate the Elksentre’s legacy, it’s a great reminder of how much we can accomplish when we work together—on the ice, in business, and as a community. Here’s to the enduring spirit of Prince George and to helping our local businesses grow!
