3 tips for building your brand on social media

Social media is one of the key places to develop your brand but there are tricks to do it right.

Be Consistent with your brand

In all likelihood you will have accounts on more than one social media network. It is important that you are consistent with the information you publish.

Examples of this are:

Using the same version of your logo wherever you post
Always referring to your brand, services and products in the same way
Using a template for your posts to ensure you always give the right information in a consistent order
Maintaining a publishing routine, so you publish similar types of post on each platform on scheduled days
This is demonstrates your professionalism to your followers. As they know what to expect from you their trust in your brand will increase.

Be Flexible

Not every social media platform was created equal and you should not try to create an account on all of them. Do some research to determine which platforms will best expose you to potential customers.

Approaching Different Platforms
As you develop your social media strategy, bear in mind that different platforms can be used for different things. For example, Facebook is great for starting discussions, and collecting comments your followers. Twitter is great for broadcasting announcements to your followers.

Unique Content Every Time
Although you want your social media activity to be consistent, you should NOT just be cutting and pasting your posts from one platform to another.

Keep Up-to-date
Be aware of new platforms, or new functionality within existing platforms. Often this can provide opportunities to connect with your followers in new ways. For example Facebook Live allows you to easily stream video in real time to your followers.

This could be a great way to forge stronger relationships with your followers. But you need to be abreast of the latest developments in Social Media to make us of it.

Start a Conversation

One of the great things about using Social Media Platforms is that they are a two way street. They give you an opportunity to get your messages out to followers all over the world. They also provide an opportunity to obtain feedback directly from your followers and customers.

Don’t just see Social Media as a way of getting your message out. Try to get your followers involved in a conversation. They can provide invaluable insight on your company, your products and services, and they sort of information they would like you to publish.

That sort of insight is gold dust. It used to cost money and time to set up focus groups to obtain information like this, and now you can get it for free!
