Covid masks, a missed marketing opportunity for Prince George business?

With all the talk of Covid masks I wonder if they are not a missed marketing opportunity for a Prince George Business?  Here is something that almost everyone wears and others see. Much like a jacket or a t-shirt. Think of the number of items in your closet carrying branding of some kind, the Nike shirt, the Harley Davidson jacket or the John Deere ball cap.

Are we as marketers missing an opportunity here? Now granted there is going to be a great deal of reluctance to someone wearing say a Brinks Forest Products face mask but what if they paid a person say $500 a month to wear the mask? Perhaps taking pics you wearing it in various locations to ensure enforcement. Is that a missed opportunity for us as marketers? Here we are with essentially a blank canvas to get our name out. Even if it is just the owners and employees.  Conisder the opportunity  you have before you.

Masks as an opportunity of local artists

In addition,  what if you are a artist? Maybe struggling to find an audience for your paintings? Why not put some of your designs on masks to show your talents to Prince George? Baiscally a walking billboard if you will. You could sell them for a nominal fee, and your art could be seen by hundreds. Imagine getting your art in front of hundreds of people for only the cost of a mask? You could even donate some of the mask profits to charity as this company is doing.

A Chicago-based eCommerce company announced this week that it would release artist-designed face masks, with a portion of proceeds going to MedShare, a nonprofit that delivers medical supplies to communities in need

Could some of the amazing Prince George artists do the same to bring attention to Native art?  Is this a missed marketing opportunity? Also it may help you get back some of the lost money you had because people could not go the gallery.
