Why I love Marketing

I had the distinct honour of hearing Miri Rodriguez speak at #Smmw20 and one (of the many ) things she said asked is WHY. Why are you here doing what you do? What is your story? For me it began years ago when I was sick at home with the flu and a Tornado had gone through the midwest US I am up in Canada so since I had nothing to do I asked if they needed help. And was added to their #faceboook page to help reunite pets with owners. Dogs had gone missing and way too often that was all the owner had left. I created posters that hopefully went viral in order that the owner would find their pet and be reunited. Those reunions and the fact I was doing something good for the world showed me the power of #socialmedia. This would be my platform. This would be how I made my mark in the world.

Which is why to this day I love what I do. If I can make you feel something emotional about a client's product, then I have done my job. I have moved you. Yes not on the same level as the time with the tornado but I moved you. And if you think of the # of times you have felt, happy or sad, joyful or angry at something you have seen online. Someone had done something right and for me I want to be a part of that. I still would love to help dog rescues etc but I do love marketing and making a difference.
